  Travel Works for Texas
The Texas Travel Alliance is the voice of the travel and tourism industry in Texas. We advocate for non-partisan policies that help our industry grow and thrive, representing both the interests of our travel businesses and our visitors. The travel industry is an economic driver for the state, employing more than 1.3 million people across a range of hospitality businesses. TTA protects the state's $193 billion travel industry and strives to create a positive climate, so those impacts continue to grow. Travel and tourism are essential businesses that improve the quality of life for all Texans. We monitor legislative activities and inform our members and friends of travel when action is required. Additionally, we work in cooperation with local communities, businesses, and other travel industry stakeholders to increase awareness and support for the economic benefits of travel and tourism. 89th Session Legislative Agenda Priorities  Promote Travel We will lead efforts to promote and protect tourism promotion funding with full allocation, as well as the Events Trust Fund and Major Events Reimbursement Program.  Economic Growth We will work to protect the integrity of Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT), support property tax reforms, and oppose taxpayer-funded lobbying legislation that may harm the industry.  Workforce Development We will lead efforts to preserve a full summer work season with consistent schedule legislation, and support TEA industry certifications, internship opportunities and work incentives for the industry.  Transportation Infrastructure We will advocate for commercial aviation expansion; road, rail, and air service modernization; and support legislation to strengthen electric and water infrastructure.  Safety, Security, Accessibility We will advocate for sensible animal and ride regulations/ legislation, as well as travel accessibility legislation, and border safety and security legislation that enhances travel.
