Texas Tourism Foundation Daniel J. Decker Scholarship

The Texas Tourism Foundation was founded to support the education advancement and professional development of individuals in the Texas Travel Industry by providing scholarships and educational opportunities.
Daniel J. Decker Scholarship

Dan Decker was known for always being willing to lend a hand, provide sage advice, and mentoring so many in the travel industry. The Daniel J. Decker Scholarship will continue Dan's legacy by providing scholarships to aspiring travel industry professionals and help advance the careers of current travel industry professionals.

The Daniel J Decker Scholarship will have a primary focus on the educational and professional development of individuals in the Texas Travel Industry wishing to advance their careers through education and advanced certification. Scholarship recipient will receive an award which will be designated to cover the registration fee to attend either the Texas Travel Alliance 2025 Travel & Tourism College or 2025 Texas Travel Summit. In addition, all scholarship recipients will have access to an established executive within the industry for individual mentoring.
Scholarship Requirements
  • Must be currently employed by a Texas Travel Alliance member organization
  • Must work in the Texas Travel Industry
  • Provide current resume or CV
  • Provide two letters of support from a leader within the Texas Travel Industry
  • Must provide an essay on the following: Working in the travel and tourism industry is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to explore, connect, and impact the world. In an essay, reflect on what it truly means to work in this dynamic field. What do you aspire to achieve within the travel and tourism industry and how will this scholarship help you achieve your long-term goal(s)?
